In depth...

Coach Mitchell has been working with athletes and educating them about what they must do to play college sports for well over a decade. The idea of Sports Dreammakers Inc. was first conceived in 1995 by Laura Mitchell, who was then one of the nation's youngest NCAA Head College Coaches. She realized that many of the young athletes she was recruiting and coaching had been waiting for calls from college coaches, and were often disappointed when this did not happen. They were being discouraged by their high school coaches who said "you can't!" They were being scammed by recruiting services who offer their services for free to a few obvious top athletes, and then used those student-athletes' names to draw in other athletes. The information they needed was not easily available, and often not affordable.

While a high school athlete, Mitchell had limited financial resources, and limited knowledge about what to do to play sports in college. An All-City and All-District athlete at a large Texas high school, Mitchell had the skill to play at the next level, but little knowledge about how to play at the highest possible level.

Sports Dreammakers Inc. is for student-athletes, parents, and school administrators.
