As a teenager who plays sports your body has specific needs. To meet these needs you must eat right to prepare your body for its highest level of competition. Eating right, keeping a clean bloodstream, healthy lungs, and a strong and lean drug and alcohol free body are some of the best tools for success in your sport.
Consider being a holistic athlete. This means treat yourself as a mind, body, and spirit working together as one. But remember to treat each part of yourself with kindness and respect.
Remember, your body takes on the qualities of the foods you put into it. When you eat low nutritional junk food and fast foods and processed microwaved dishes, you will probably feel less energetic and less healthy.

Student-athletes always ask if it is expensive to eat more healthily? Consider this example: You eat a super size meal at a fast food restaurant. You'll probably be hungry a few hours later because the fast food had very few nutrients for your body. Now if you'd have eaten some nutrient dense foods, you could eat less, simply because your body will be getting what it needs, with less. You will be healthy more (sick less often) and let's face it - if you perform like a champion you are more likey to become a college scholarship athlete. So now you can see how eating healthy can be the same or cheaper.
